KO WAI AHAU? | ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Liana, I am a year 8 and attend Matawai School. I live on a sheep and beef farm an hour out of Gisborne. I live with my parents and 2 older brothers.

My favourite subject is mathematics because it gives you a challenge. I also love writing because anything is possible in a story. My favourite time of the day at school is silent reading, because I’m a big bookworm. My goal this year is to keep on progressing in all my subjects before I go to high school.

 I play hockey as a half or defender. I aspire to become a veterinarian when I am older. This year I look forwards to the senior bike ride and camp. My favourite book series are Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson.  I love animals (apart from spiders) and have a pet foxy named Gus, 8 sheep, Lulu, Dave, Momo, Mimi, Addison, Amelia, Gracie and Teddy.  I inherited our 14 year old retired work dog Dug as a joke, but Dug is mine now. I also have a pet calf named Penelope and a horse named Bluey. I look forward to my last year at Matawai School.

Hi, my name is Liana,  I'm a year 7 and go to school at Matawai School.  I was born in Gisborne and I have lived on a farm in Motu with my  parents and  my 2 brothers  ever since.  I play hockey as a half and netball as WA and WD.

My favourite subject is mathematics, I enjoy this because of the challenge.  I also really like writing because of the creativity you can use. I find it hard to do long division because really there's no point to doing it because you can just use the regular division.  My goal  this year is to improve on all of my subjects.

My favourite books are the Harry Potter series.  When I get older I want to be a veterinarian. Anita Mclaren inspires me because she's an awesome hockey player.  I play the ukulele with our school ukulele group.  This year we are playing at the War Memorial Theatre. I'm also going to be performing my song ‘My Dog Has Fleas’ which I wrote with my friend.

 I absolutely love animals.  I have a pet foxy named Gus,   4 sheep  names Lulu,  Momo, Mimi and Dave.  I also have  a  cow named Penelope  and horse named Bluey.  I have loved animals since I was tiny and got my own orphan lambs to care for. This year I aim to get champion lamb with my new orphan lambs.

Hi, my name is Liana, I am a part of Room 4 Matawai School, as a year six. I live on a farm with my two brothers and parents. I was born in Gisborne, New Zealand, in the land of the long white cloud. Over the time that I’ve lived on our farm I’ve developed a love for animals. Every year I’d receive a miss-mothered lamb and learn to feed it and all the things that a lamb needs to survive. But one of the best parts of my life was getting our pet dog, Gus. He listens to me blabbering with all my problems and helping me to feel better when I’m down.

As I mentioned before, I am a year six at Matawai School. My favourite subject would be writing as you can write anything you want, whether it's true or not. I think that I am doing quite well with my mathematics too. My goals this year are to keep on going ahead in all subjects of my learning. I really enjoy school, with all the learning and collaborating with others.

This year I would really like to improve my hockey skills. My inspiration for hokey would be Anita Mclaren as she is a big part of the black sticks. In two years time I’m hoping to make it into the Poverty Bay Rep team, before I go to high school. I love to care for my pets (lambs and dog). This year I’m hoping to win Champion pet, which I came so close to last year with my lamb Lulu, who now lives in the paddock behind our house.
