Taniwha Writing

A little while ago Room 4 did some slow writing where we were given something we had to put in our sentence (e.g simile, speech marks, a sentence starting with a verb or noun e.c.t) and created a sentence around that brief. The objective was to use a good word selection to enhance our writing. I really enjoyed writing the whole thing, I know it's not very specific but it was just really fun to have the time to actually think over your sentence and really choose your words carefully. I found it challenging to imagine my taniwha, because I didn't have the clearest of pictures in my mind as to what my taniwha actually looked like. My digital learning object shows that I am a stepping up blogger. Next time I would try to change up my writing style slightly because otherwise it sounds very similar to most other things I do. Here is my work

Tail cracking like a whip.
Swiftly snaking up the rough, sandpaper like tree bark.
Twig snapping underfoot, revealing the taniwhas placing.
Suddenly I spring into the clearing yelling I’ve got you now tree scum!”
Tongue lashing at the threatening hunter.
No hunter, wise or bold, is a match for the almighty, muscular and deadly tree serpent.

Matariki: City Vs Country

Today I was learning how to make an animation on Brush Ninja.
I enjoyed the creative aspect, e.g using limited shapes and colours to create a piece of art.
I found it challenging to actually come up with an idea to use for Matariki.
My digital learning object shows that I understand how to make an animation.
Next time I would change how long my animation is and hopefully get an idea in my head more easily so I would waste less time. Have you ever used Brush Ninja before?
This blog post shows that I am a stepping up blogger

End Of The Holidays!

I hope that everyone has had an amazing holiday full of family and friends, I sure did.Make sure to have a fantastic term 3 and to learn lots!
Is there anything cool or exciting you got up to this holidays?

Adrenalin Forest

While we were finally coming back home after our stay at Rotorua we decided to have a small detour to adrenalin forest. I really enjoyed this. Basically you have two caribbeana like hooks which can't both come off at the same time, so your safe when your 15 metres up in the trees. There were quite a few activities up in the trees which is quite physically challenging especially when your a bit shorter like me making my fingers stretch. I got up to level 4 after which I stopped, taking me about 2 hours to do so including every level which was pretty good.  One of  my brother got all the way to level 6 (the last level) which was even higher and very challenging! Mine and I think everyones favourite parts were the zip-lines especially the epic one on the end of level 4 or in my brothers case the colossal zip-line on the very last level. I would really recommend this as it was a super cool pit-stop for the family.

Have you ever done adrenalin forest?
If so which level did you get up to?

Escape Room

Escape Room

Whilst in Rotorua we heard of really cool escape room in a place called Motion. Out of the three different categories (zombie, spy and gangsta)  we chose gangsta and the medium hardness (out of easy, medium, hard or very hard) and got lead through to our very first escape room which was designed to look like an Italian restaurant. Do not worry we were locked in there from one door but there's another door which is unlocked which you can use if you need the toilet or say if there was a fire. Two extra rooms were adjoining to the dining room/bar (the kitchen which you had to get into by pin and the toilet which you had to get into by key as well as a hidden room which you had to get into!)  We had 1 hour to find all of the clues and unlock all of the locks. I won't give too much else away just in case at some point you do the same! I would definitely recommend this.

Have you ever tried an escape room?

Redwoods Rotorua

Redwoods Biking/Running-
Because we stayed close to the Redwoods when we went to Rotorua, we decided to use it to our advantage, therefore going for a couple of runs and some lovely bike rides through the very scenic trails. Overall the Redwoods are an amazing place to go to even if  you just want to walk, and is also an amazing place for taking artistic photos...

Have you ever been to the Redwoods?
