The Quest Drawing

About a week ago I wrote a story called 'The Quest' which I am now basing a novel off. Mrs Williams challenged me to draw a scene from that writing, so I did. I am the first to admit that it's a definitely not the best of artworks. In my defence the camera doesn't really pick up on the detail I put into it but, oh well. I realise that it is a bit bare but I tried putting trees, sheep and detail onto the hill and it just didn't really turn out that well, so I settled for how it was naturally.  Also imagine it's lovely and colourful because I am too scared of putting colour into my work because it will end up looking like a 2 year olds if I do. Anyway, here is my drawing...

  1. Kia ora again Liana! Well done for taking up the challenge! I really love the medium you've used for your drawing - it really helps to demonstrate that tone that you acknowledged last time, which was that it was quite melancholy! Well done! It's a real hallmark of a learner when you're willing to stretch yourself into new challenges, and it seems that you've put a lot of thought into this one; the content, the aspects to include. The way your character's hair fell across her face really captivated me in your writing, so I'm so pleased to see you've also targeted that in your drawing. It's really lovely, thank you for sharing.
    Keep up the great blogging,
    Amie Williams

  2. Hi Liana
The character you have drawn here is exactly how I imagined your character to look. I remember reading about her feelings of despair and pain, sitting alone on the hill. You have captured that perfectly! The pencil rather than colour compliments the mood you had created through your writing.
    Well done
